Updated Emotiguy Statement

For many years, I deliberately stepped back from EmotiGuy-related projects because I believed my agreement with DAZ 3D in 2004 restricted my ability to participate.
After recently reviewing that agreement and obtaining legal advice, I no longer believe that supporting community projects celebrating EmotiGuy’s history and cultural impact conflicts with my obligations.
During a period of investigation, we uncovered information that suggests the EmotiGuy rights situation may be more complex than many people have been led to believe. It indicates that the public narrative around the claimed IP rights may not tell the whole story.
As a result, legal proceedings relating to EmotiGuy and associated intellectual property matters are now in progress.
What matters most to me is that a character I created more than twenty years ago is still being enjoyed and shared around the world. My involvement is simply about celebrating that legacy and the community that has kept him alive.
