One might consider "Dido" --- an old term for a prank or silly antic, and sounds close to Fido

Or maybe to skirt copyrights ...

for a name that is size aware/fun
- Nugget
- Chunk
- Moose (he's a confused dog :-) )
- Squirt
- Twinkie (esp. if he likes sweets).

Call him "Alfredo" .. a bit pompous, but would pair well with one of your older models: Bacon. :-)

Jack Is a good name it's my sister's dogs name he's a malamute/great dane mix

Hmmm ... how about "Sparky"?

Or others coming to me:

Pip -- short for pipsqueak, runt of the litter, so he tries harder?
Peanut -- similar mood to Pip
Buddy -- since aren't all dogs your best buddy?
Buster -- common enough, ranks up there with Buddy for me.
Scrappy -- a more ambitious version of Pip (tuft of hair, makes he look ready for a scrap, to prove himself to others), a go-get-em dog
Toby -- just because it was name of our neighbour's dog when I was a kid ... a small dachshund who had a lot of energy
Mo' -- just because of that little mohawk tuft of hair on his head.
